1959 Buick - Blue Ridge Parkway T-Shirt

It is not unusual to see a classic car tooling down the Blue Ridge Parkway since the roads are smooth, and the maximum speed limit is only 45 mph, but this was the first time I was lucky enough to catch one at an overlook.

I found this 1959 Buick 4-door hardtop parked at milepost 79.7 alongside this amazing view at the Onion Mountain Overlook.

In 1959, there was a significant update to the Buick line. It was a great looking and well-liked design featuring the panorama windshield, vent windows on the front doors. The four-door hardtop models had a one-piece rear door glass and rear window design that wrapped around to meet the door glass. The Buick’s tailfin was unique from every other 1950s car on the road.
