This image was photographed in January of 2008 when I took a snowmobile tour of Yellowstone National Park. It was an amazing experience that after all these years still ranks as one of my Top 5 favorite trips.
When the snow gets deep in Yellowstone National Park the buffalo herd takes to the roads to travel. During this time, the snowmobiles are not allowed to be running. We came across a herd of around 50 buffalo coming toward us, we had to cut our engines, remain quiet as they walked within touching distance of us.
