Autumn at bridge number 6 on Seven Bridges Road. I had to do a little wading to get the full effect of this falls. This has always been my favorite bridge on the drive since there is a long cascade slide located here. You still can't see it all, it starts on the other side of the bridge.
Seven Bridges Road is named because of its numerous historic stone-arch bridges. At just 4 miles long, the drive follows Amity Creek, crisscrossing back and forth over it. During the drive, the creek has a 400 foot elevation change making it one long cascade of waterfalls before it meets up with the Lester River and heads out into Lake Superior.
There are actually nine bridges on the drive but two were bypassed when Seven Bridges Road was connected to Skyline Parkway. They are now part of a hiking trail.
It is one of the more beautiful drives in Duluth, Minnesota and is considered the eastern terminus for Duluth’s famous Skyline Parkway.

My husband became a medical traveler, and I decided to put my career on hold to tag along. In the process, I found my roots again. What...
