Description
The Arc Eye Hawkfish is just a little guy; only one and a half to three inches long. The Arc-Eye is named because of the horseshoe-shaped mark behind the eye. They lack a swim bladder so he will spend most of his time perching on coral. They form territorial harems, with one male defending a territory with many females and juveniles.
I photographed this little Arc Eye Hawkfish out in the Pacific Ocean in Maui, Hawaii. Doing what he does best, watching for predators and protection his harem.
The image has been digitally painted.
