Artist's Description

Sunset from the Arnold Valley Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Arnold Valley Overlook is located at milepost 75.3 on the Virginia section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Alleghenies can be seen in the distance, with Arnold Valley at the foot of the mountains. The valley gets its name from Steve Arnold, who established his homestead there in 1749.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is 469 miles long. It starts on the northern end at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and ends in the south at Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee, North Carolina.
