Description
The Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe is hidden in a cozy corner in historic Old Town Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Inside the Chapel, three wooden benches flank each side of the Chapel. Their back panels, hand-carved by Sister Giotto and renowned artist Meinrad Craighead, each panel has a different Scripture verse carved into it.
Founded by Sister Giotto Moots, this small Chapel was built for the students of Sagrada Art Studios to have a place to pray as a group. It has become a refuge for reflection, prayer, and meditation for the community.
The Chapel is named in Spanish for the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus, and is dedicated to the Spanish and Native Americans in New Mexico.
