Description
Rain showers can be seen off in the distance heading our way as we watch from the Crescent Rock Overlook on Skyline Drive at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. The elevation here is 3550 feet.
It was one of those beautiful rainy spring days when I gushed more over the clouds than the view. We had short localized showers all day long. After the rain, the sun would could out, and the sky would be absolutely amazing. As we drove up Skyline Drive, the overlooks alternated from side to side along the Blue Ridge Mountains. On one side of the mountains, I could see the next storm coming, and on the other, the storm that had just passed through. Another shower would arrive, and just when I was ready to give up, thinking it would rain for the rest of the day, that storm would pass, and the sky would open up again.
