Illinois Welcoming the World statue in the center 1st floor rotunda of the Illinois State Capital at Springfield.
This sculpture, by Julia M Bracken, was first displayed as a plaster statue in the Illinois Building at the 1893 Columbian Exposition, a World’s Fair held in Chicago. The sculptor was asked to reproduce it in bronze for inside the Capitol building. It was dedicated on May 16, 1895.
