The Illinois Supreme Court building at Springfield, designed by William Carbys Zimmerman, the Supervising Architect for the State of Illinois at the time in the Neoclassical style, was constructed in 1907-08 for a total cost of $450,500.
Before getting its own building, from 1878 to 1907, the Supreme Court was located in a room of the State Capitol.
