Long Train a Coming -Sandhills Journey metal print by Susan Rissi Tregoning.   Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description

A BNSF Railway train passing through the Sandhills.

Up to 100 trains pass through the Nebraska Sandhills every day on the tracks running parallel to Nebraska Highway 2. The trains, sometimes a mile long, carry coal from Wyoming's Powder River Basin coal fields, the largest coal-producing region in the United States, to power plants across the country.

I'm a travel photographer that enjoys photographing United States architecture, nature, and transportation. As the 8th photographer in 4 generations of my family, I don't remember a time when photography was not part of my life. By the time I was five years old, I was standing on a stool in the darkroom, helping my dad develop pictures. It was my job to transfer the photos from the hypo to the water bath. I went to college for interior design. After I graduated, I had a long successful career as an art buyer and designer for a large home furnishings company. In 2006, I had a significant life change.
