The alien eyes streetlights on Main Street in Roswell, New Mexico, look festive in their Christmas hats and red bowties. I couldn’t resist adding the Christmas Greeting, “Merry Christmas from our galaxy to yours!”
Today these streetlights are a Roswell icon, but back in 2001, when the creators of the now-defunct Spacewalk at the Roswell Space Center wanted to put alien eyes on them, the city would not allow it. So late one night, as part of a guerrilla art project, they ran down Main Street sticking eyes on the lights. They have been there ever since.
