Description
The Rivoli Theater opened its doors to a welcoming Cedarburg, Wisconsin audience in 1936. Located in what was originally an old dry goods store, the building dates to the late 1800s. The renovation to convert this building to an entertainment showplace would have cost the equivalent of well over one million dollars today!
The Rivoli Theater's Art Deco Electrolite Silhouette marque is still a beauty. Black with plenty of chrome trim and flashy lights still beckons people to the sidewalk ticket booth below. I can just imagine how exciting it would have been to visit this theater in its heyday when the price of admission was only a quarter.
