Artist's Description

I get a chuckle every time I look at this image. While this bull elk may have just been licking his lips, I prefer to think he is sticking his tongue out at me.

In the background is the Mountain Farm Museum at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park’s Oconaluftee Visitor Center in Cherokee, North Carolina.

I captured this in the autumn of 2020 during the annual elk rut.
