Description
Have you slept in a Wigwam lately?
The Wigwam Motel on historic Route 66 in Holbrook, Arizona, feels a lot like stepping back in time with the vintage automobiles parked in the lot in front of each teepee.
The cars seen in this image from near to far are 1951 Nash Airflyte, 1952-53 Hudson, 1972 Oldsmobile Cutless, and a 1971 VW Super Beetle Camper.
Each teepee is 21 feet wide and 28 feet high. The teepees are painted white with a red zigzag above the doorway. Rooms feature the original hand-made hickory furniture, and each room has a small bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.
The Wigwam Village Motel #6 was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
