Description
One of the many large tools that can be seen in the Soule Steam Feed Works machine shop at the Industrial Heritage Museum.
Sitting on the planer is a Gardner Steam Engine Governor that was brought into Soule for repair but never picked up because the owner’s sawmill steam engine was destroyed by fire.
The Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum, located in Meridian, Mississippi, is the home of the last intact steam engine factory in America. Once the Soule Steam Feed Works, the museum is an industrial time capsule dating in appearance to around the end of the industrial revolution.
