Looking down on the magnificent St. Louis Chain of Rocks Water Intake Towers that sit beside the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge in the middle of the Mississippi River.
These Romanesque castle-like structures have always fascinated me from afar. However, it wasn't until I was doing my Route 66 research that I discovered that I could hike the old Chain of Rocks Bridge and get a closer look.
