Description
Jimmy Carter ignores John F. Kennedy’s stare.
There was a long-standing and heated feud between Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter. Howard Hankins, the current owner of the heads, demonstrates his knowledge of history with this subtle and ironic statue placement. Do you think Jimmy is uncomfortable because of big brother John’s stare down?
Exposed to the elements, cracked and crumbling in various stages of deterioration, these giant Presidential busts are surrounded by heavy equipment in an apocalyptic industrial wasteland where the mold and moss adds character and awesomeness to the entire experience.
They were once part of an educational park that went bankrupt during the recession of 2010; and now reside on private property near Williamsburg, Virginia. Each head stands 20 to 22 feet tall, weighing in somewhere between 15 to 20 tons. There are 42 heads in all; the collection ended with George W. Bush when the park closed.
