Artist's Description

The Chattanooga Choo Choo steam engine bears the number 29, paying tribute to the song that made it famous.

The 1941 Glenn Miller song "Chattanooga Choo Choo" told the story of a train trip from Track 29 at Pennsylvania Station in New York City through Baltimore, North and South Carolina, and finishing the trip, or terminating at Terminal Station. (However, no such train went from New York, through the Carolinas to Chattanooga.)

"Pardon me, boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo?"
"Yes, yes, Track 29!"
"Boy, you can give me a shine."
"Can you afford to board the Chattanooga Choo Choo?"
"I've got my fare and just a trifle to spare."

My husband became a medical traveler, and I decided to put my career on hold to tag along. In the process, I found my roots again. What...
