Artist's Description

Fall colors reflect in Sugar Creek under the Cox Ford Covered Bridge.

JA Britton built the single-span Burr Arch truss Cox Ford Covered Bridge across Sugar Creek in 1913 to replace a steel bridge lost in the 1913 flooding. He reused the arches from the 60-year-old Armiesburg Covered Bridge that washed out in that same flood.

Located on the west edge of Turkey Run State Park in Parke County, Indiana, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
