Description
Down at the Little Raccoon Creek near the Nevins Bridge in Parke County, Indiana.
Constructed by J. A. Britton & Son in 1920, this covered bridge was the end of an era. It is the last covered bridge to be built in Parke County and the final bridge that J.A. Britton built. He was 83 at the time. He lived to be 91.
A single-span Burr Arch bridge, it is 169 feet long. It has “Daniels Arched Portals” instead of the “Britton Portals” that J.A. Britton and his son Eugene Britton preferred.
