Artist's Description

Looking back at Waianapapa's Pailoa Beach in the distance on a stormy but still beautiful day.

Pailoa Beach is famous for its black sand beach and bright turquoise water.

The English translation for Waianapanapa is glistening water or water flashing rainbow hues, both of which accurately describe the beautifully exotic contrast between the black, pebble lava field and the deep blue-green of the water.
