Artist's Description

The Arlington Hotel is part of the ghost town of Arlington, Missouri. Located on the original Route 66 alignment, Arlington once had a post-office general store, hotel, drug store, and a mill. This section of Arlington would have once been considered "downtown," but after the bridge across the river was removed, it became isolated on a dead-end section of Route 66.

Only a few residents remain in Arlington today. What is left of the town of Arlington has been absorbed into Newburg, Missouri.
