Artist's Description

'Alau Islet as seen in the distance just off the shore of Koki Beach as a storm rolls in.

The island is a seabird sanctuary that is a favorite of the Great Frigatebird or 'iwa as it is known in Hawaiian. It is said that this island was once used by Hawaiians as a place of sacred study.
