Artist's Description

The Central Standard Building, AKA Wintrust Building, was built in 1924 and fully renovated in 2015. Spanning 88,000 square feet, it is one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the Midwest.

Located in Chicago's Financial District, it faces the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, two near-twin neoclassical sentries guarding the Chicago Board of Trade building.

The building's name honors a historical event that occurred on this site in 1883 when the General Time Convention divided the United States into four time zones.
