Artist's Description

Currently, in the process of being scrapped, the laker JB Ford was 115 years old when I photographed her tied off in an out of the way corner of the Duluth Harbor in 2018. Said to be haunted, she first launched in 1903, and her three-cycle reciprocating steam engine was the last of its kind in existence. At 440 feet long, the JB Ford had an 8,000-ton capacity. She last sailed in 1985 as a cement barge.
