Artist's Description
A tree swallow dips his beak into the water as he nabs an insect from the lakes surface.
This was a fun little exercise to entertain myself on a slow and mostly ugly rainy day out at Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge in southern Illinois. The objective was to practice my speed in locating birds in flight and focusing on these tiny little tree swallows as they buzzed back and forth over the lake eating insects. My husband became a medical traveler, and I decided to put my career on hold to tag along. In the process, I found my roots again. What...
