Artist's Description

Silver Street is all that remains of Natchez Under-the-Hill. While the respectable citizens of Natchez lived up the hill on the bluffs, Under-the-Hill was the location of the brothels, gambling houses, and saloons that catered to boatmen, and travelers, that arrived by boat. Back in the day, Natchez Under-the-Hill was said to be the rowdiest most licentious river port along the Mississippi River.
