This beautiful red lighthouse was built in 1882. It sits at the end of the North Pier of the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal and is connected to shore via a raised catwalk. The Sturgeon Bay ship canal allows vessels to cut through the Door Peninsula instead of using the dangerous Deaths Door passage at the tip of the peninsula.
