Artist's Description

Located beside the limestone walled Whisky Creek on the scenic grounds of the Maker’s Mark Distillery is the old Quart House. Built circa 1889, the Quart House is believed to be America’s oldest standing retail liquor store.

Back in the day, the locals would bring in their jugs and jars telling the Quart House keeper to “fill ‘em up.” The interior of the Quart House has a roll top desk, old coal burning stove, and a 105 year old typewriter.
