Description
The Lockport, Illinois Train Station was built in 1863 by the Chicago and Alton Railroad. The tracks run parallel to the Illinois and Michigan Canal, and shares the right of way with Amtrak although no Amtrak train stops in Lockport. Located just shy of 33 miles from Chicago’s Union Station, it is the 136th busiest of Metra’s non-downtown station.
