Description
The Volunteer replica canal boat is docked at Lock 14 on the Illinois and Michigan Canal in LaSalle, Illinois.
As an attraction on the I&M Canal, travel back in time as you take a canal boat ride along a restored canal segment to the Little Vermilion aqueduct. The Captain will steer the boat from the back with a large wooden rudder, as a mule tender and canal mule pulls the boat along the towpath, much as they did in 1848. During the Canal Boat reenactment, a deckhand tells stories of life on the I&M Canal.
