Description
Located in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii, this gorgeous waterfall is popularly known as Rainbow Falls. Also known as Waianuenue Falls, its Hawaiian name translates to “rainbow seen in water”.
At 80 foot tall, the falls’ display is largely dependent on the Wailuku River and the areas recent rainfall. If the conditions are just right, the falls will have a Y shape and resemble a white shower gracefully falling over a rock shelf into a placid blue-green pool. And, if you arrive at just the right time of morning on a beautiful sunny day, you will see a rainbow.
